POEM | Under The Moon

In shadows deep, a tale unfolds,

Of a wayward child with secrets untold.

A burden heavy, a world within,

Life's winding road where darkness begins.

Learned the things that innocence shuns,

A knowledge gained by the young ones.

Closed their eyes against the cruel light,

Stood on the ground with the weight of the night.

Head raised high to the endless sky,

As time rolled by, a silent cry.

Still, they feel like a child lost in gloom,

Perhaps they grew up a touch too soon.

Funny how lessons carve their way,

Numb to the madness, emotions astray.

Left the worst unsaid in the shadow's play,

Dissipated, forgotten, they try to sway.

The edge draws near, oblivious fate,

A dance with danger, tempting and great.

Fell right over, a precarious chance,

Now a grown child, caught in a trance.

Stability elusive, a part left behind,

In the corridors of the subconscious mind.

A fading echo, a ghostly sigh,

On the verge of vanishing, almost saying goodbye.

But awakening, a timely grace,

A guardian angel, a guiding embrace.

Sailing on an ocean of memories untold,

With you by their side, a companion bold.

The clouds ablaze, burning imagery,

A portrait alive in the mind's liturgy.

Closed eyes, steady feet, to the moon they swoon,

A child within, under the midnight's cocoon.

Grew up too soon, yet forever alive,

In the heart's chamber where emotions thrive.

A journey through time, a poetic tune,

A soul that lingers, a grown child under the moon.
