POEM | Beyond The Sea and Far Away

Beyond the sea and far away,

Where shadows dance, and echoes play.

Like an ice floe, she waits, cold,

In quiet yearning, tales untold.

A yearning to transcend her frost,

To change, like waters tempest-tossed.

Within her veins, an icy stream,

Yet dreams of warmth, an elusive gleam.

Muscles tighten, face contorts,

Shielding a soul in passion's forts.

Entwined like water, they become,

A fluid dance, a beating drum.

Yet fire wanes, a fading pyre,

In everyday's mundane attire.

Repeated excuses veil the truth,

Hard to utter, like a hidden sleuth.

A wish for simplicity, a plea,

Yet easily, we give up, we flee.

In your gaze, another world unfurls,

The other side, where darkness swirls.

Lighthouse lights flicker in despair,

Grasping on with fingers, threads of air.

Time commands, a sullen song,

A melancholy dance, not too long.

Fire fades, but still she yearns,

Those old, tired excuses churn.

A plea for simplicity, a silent cry,

Yet, we surrender, without knowing why.

Close enough to touch the edge,

Yet distant, like a solemn pledge.

Can you help me, where should I go?

And love me still, in shadows' flow?

Fire fades, as shadows twirl,

Even today, a weary whirl.

Simple wishes, elusive and sly,

In the realm where memories lie.

Yet, on the other side of the world,

A love unfolds, like flags unfurled.

Oh, the other side, where shadows curl,

It remains the darkest side of the world.
