POEM | Rooftop Storm

In the hushed embrace of twilight's shroud,

A whisper stirs, a prelude avowed.

A tempest veiled in shadows' guise,

Behold, the harbinger, where darkness lies.

I feel it, an ethereal murmur near,

A phantom touch, drawing ever near.

The heavens weep, in muted refrain,

As raindrops dance on my window pane.

Gentle tendrils on my fingertips alight,

The sorcery of love, an arcane rite.

A symphony of sorrow, a dirge in the night,

Your love descends, a cascade of light.

Rain, a spell to cleanse the soul,

A benediction that makes me whole.

Wash away my despair, quell my pain,

In your liquid embrace, I shall remain.

Lips aflame, a burning communion,

Time suspended in this sacred union.

Your words, a serenade, a truth unveiled,

In the tempest's eye, where love's hailed.

Thunder echoes, a celestial choir,

A crescendo as passion spirals higher.

Call me a fool, but truth I've sought,

Upon the rooftop, where dreams are caught.

Rain, a melodic hymn, a lover's art,

A chorus that resonates, tearing me apart.

In the gaze you left when our eyes met,

A farewell etched in tears, a somber duet.

I turned away, in silence, I wept,

For promises made, in the storm they slept.

Awaiting your return, when tempests subside,

I stand on this peak, where shadows hide.

Rain, a herald of love reborn,

A covenant sworn since that fateful morn.

The sun emerges, dispelling the night,

A promise fulfilled, a celestial delight.

Never go away, I beseech the skies,

In the crucible of waiting, where patience lies.

Strange and familiar, this spectral connection,

A magical dance, a sublime reflection.

Thunder heralds, a heartbeat's refrain,

A fool I may be, but not in vain.

On the rooftop, where echoes wane,

I yearn for your love, in the gentle rain.

I feel it, the impending tempest's grace,

A cascade of love, in this sacred space.

Your love's coming down, a torrential flight,

I feel it, your rain, in the still of the night.
