Poem | One Night In September

One Night In December a poem by Jennifer Gulbrandsen

One night in December

Starlight twinkling -

Each of us knowing what

This means.

We ran down a dark, deserted

Street in the cold -

A dead end, but you knew

Where to go

Sometimes the answer can be both

Not one is right -

You can go into it thinking one

And another at the end

Of the night

And I'm tortured inside

Hunger is the worst -

Sleep never came so easily

And the punishment endures

I try so hard to remember

That one night in December

I loved you in December
