Welcome, August

August with its sultry dawns,

With thick air and dew. 

The warmth assuring our rest is complete,

And we're ready for something new. 

There's something in this air at our welcome, 

This air you can wear. 

Like a baptism to a new phase, 

A call to pause and give your peace a care. 

August, you're here, brown and sunbaked,

But also shimmering and alive.

A perfect balance of content and hope,

Both of which are waiting to arrive.
